New to pellet smokers. Never used one, but have eaten food from one. I have been a charcoal griller only. Don't like the gas grills. Just ordered A YS480 on the comp cart from ATBBQ yesterday. Was a pretty easy decision after looking at all the foreign made pellet grills. Was told it may be 4 weeks before I see it. Looks like lots of good information here.

From what I gather from the forum, foil on the heat diffuser is just to make cleaning easier ?
Is there any other benefit or downside for putting foil on the heat diffuser ?
